I dont know where time goes, its Thursday already and it seems like I haven’t done anything this week. I’m supposed to cut the grass as my neighbour is anxious to carry on with the 9 point makeover plan he has created for my garden. This is in return for my proofreading his book(s). Now, I want an easy garden, I don’t have time, or if i’m honest ,the inclination, to tend a garden, anyway, so far we have ‘done’ the driveway and he’s planted some flowers. Now all work is halted until I get round to mowing the grass. The problem is every time I get a spare second it is raining and I don’t mean drizzle, this July so far, has been the wettest for years…I expect my garden to be declared a ’wilderness’ zone any day now.

More books for you

David Parfitt  The Art Of The Lawn

Peter Hathaway Capstick    Death In The Long Grass

Bill Nichols    Representing Reality

The Art Of The Lawn is a cool book, it shows you how to make patterns in the grass as you mow, and yes, it has an Astro-turf type layer on the cover. It lives in my loo along with a few other book oddities like Toilets Of The World ( photos of unusual toilets and toilet locations), Signspotting (weird and amusing signs spotted and photographed), and Things To Do In The Loo ( exrtacts from books, the classics etc), more of them later…

Time is a strange thing, the usual way it goes is if you have the time, you have no money, if you have the money, you have no time! At the moment I seem to have neither, ah well c’est la vie!!
